Recovering picky eaters

Jen

I have “recovering” picky eaters in my house. I made the mistake (yes Hindsight is 20/20) to cater to my kids likes and dislikes when it comes to food. One wants pancakes and fruit, no problem. The other wants eggs and bacon, no problem. I am working on making only ONE family dinner now. NO MORE KID FOOD! I still succumb often to the nuggets and pizza (not gonna lie to you), but I am really trying. I am also insisting (you can really do that if you are firm enough!) that my son try new things. He doesn’t have to eat it if he doesn’t like it, but he has to try. Uphill battle, but I’m fighting!

My son will be 8 in a couple weeks. I have done everything to get him to try new foods. Everytime I try one of the foods he would eat he no longer will. He is now down to just a select few foods that he will eat. I have also tried the (eat it or you don’t eat at all) I just don’t have the heart for it and he is so stubbarn that it just doesn’t work. I have tried bribes nothing works. When he was about 2yrs old it started and has gotten alot worse. Any ideas tips anything to help?????? Please thank you

What happens when one of your picky eaters is your husband? I love all of the ideas in this episode. But I have a super picky husband and my 10 year old watches him leave a pile of color on his plate and not eat his vegetables. I am the sole cook in the family and the responsibility to make something that everyone will eat is becoming too hard to handle. By the way, she will only eat pancakes and waffles and french toast with whipped cream on top. Oh her arteries.
